Winter Weather Advisory

Isaac

>> Tuesday, August 21, 2012

It would appear that Isaac will become the first hurricane of the season to make a landfall in the U.S.  We are still at least five days out but the computer runs our almost identical to what they were yesterday.  The longer range forecast suggest the storm comes right up from the southern tip of the state.  I noticed the Canadian model is taking it east of Florida right now.  It isn't the most consistent but it's worth taking a look at.

Here could be something interesting to take note of for our area.  Will there be any impacts for us as we head our way towards the kountdown to kickoff?  Right now I would say no.  The models suggest that after the storm moves in there is nothing to pick it up and steer it in a direction.  It basically remains somewhat motionless before making a gradual move north and east.  Way too early to make any type of call.

Not much has changed since yesterday.  I would increase the chance of rain slightly.  The average temp on the 1st in State College is 78.  I'd take the over on that today.
